Every movement needs a starting point... why not begin at social gatherings among relatives with cross-generational talk about the waves of change affecting us all? I asked a college student yesterday: "Are college textbooks becoming obsolete?" Her answer was that a course outline is now mostly a series of hyperlinks to articles online. But the fact that I was sincere in the question was much appreciated and opened up a channel that was more than the perfunctory 'how are you?' Now I'll practice it standing in line or whenever I can. I'll probably learn something!

Excellent idea and perspective, Brian, thanks! There are so many ways and avenues to stretch ourselves.

This has entirely been my experience - glad to see others have found the same. Remember when the WWII generation focused so much on "the generation gap"? Let's learn from history and do better, if we can - not a gap, but a bridge, or a series of bridges. In the end, maybe we're all connected to each other this way, whether near or far, similar or not, maybe it's all bridges.
